Article Submission and Processing Fees

The Archives of Basic and Applied Medicine (ABAM) is committed to transparent and ethical publication practices. The journal does not charge any fees for manuscript submission, initial editorial assessment, or peer review.

Article Processing Charge (APC)

An Article Processing Charge (APC) of USD 500 is payable only after a manuscript has successfully completed peer review and has been formally accepted for publication.

The APC covers the costs associated with:

  • Editorial and administrative processing
  • Peer-review management
  • Professional copyediting and proofreading
  • Typesetting and layout preparation
  • DOI registration (where applicable)
  • Online publication
  • Long-term digital preservation and archiving
  • Website hosting and maintenance
  • Open access dissemination

The APC is not a publication guarantee. Editorial decisions are made independently and are based solely on the scientific quality, originality, ethical compliance, and relevance of the submitted manuscript.

No Other Fees

Apart from the USD 500 Article Processing Charge, the journal does not charge any additional fees, including but not limited to:

  • Manuscript submission fee
  • Editorial handling fee
  • Peer-review fee
  • Fast-track processing fee
  • Acceptance fee
  • Publication fee separate from the APC
  • Color figure fee
  • Page charge
  • Supplementary material fee
  • DOI registration fee
  • Online hosting fee
  • Certificate fee

There are no hidden charges at any stage of the publication process.

APC Waiver Policy

The Archives of Basic and Applied Medicine (ABAM) recognizes that some authors may face financial barriers to publication. Limited APC waivers or discounts may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Waiver requests should be submitted before or at the time of manuscript submission. Approval of a waiver request does not influence the editorial or peer-review process.

Waivers may be considered for authors who demonstrate genuine financial need, subject to the journal's available resources and editorial policies.

The decision to grant or decline an APC waiver rests solely with the Editorial Office and is final.

The journal is committed to ensuring that the ability to pay does not influence editorial decisions. All manuscripts are evaluated exclusively on their scientific merit, originality, methodological quality, and relevance to the journal's scope.
